Over $1M in damages after heavy fire at Hamilton Mountain restaurant

A restaurant on the Hamilton Mountain went up in flames overnight with over $1 million in damages, but crews say no one was injured.
Firefighters were called to the August 8 restaurant on Upper James St. just past midnight for reports of heavy flames.
The fire advanced through the attic and roof of the building, it was brought under control within 45 minutes said the Hamilton Fire department in a statement.

The fire department said the building has sustained significant damage including structural collapse. Initial damage estimates are over $1 million.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and there has been no reports of injuries.
