Patient, doctor team up to raise funds for Terry Fox Run

A Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) doctor is teaming up with a patient for the Terry Fox Run this Sunday.

Penny MacCormack was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2019 and has since undergone over seventy rounds of chemotherapy. The aggressive treatments haven’t slowed her down. MacCormack started an annual triathlon that has raised nearly $30,000 for HHS.

While receiving care at Juravinski hospital, MacCormack says her physician, Dr. John Goffin asked her what her next challenge would be. The pair will be running the Burlington Terry Fox race together. Dr. Goffin says MacCormack is an inspiration, who lives life to the fullest.
