Community hosts dream Halloween parade for Hamilton boy with cancer

The community of a local family that received devastating news about their five-year-old son has come together to make sure he can experience the Halloween party of his dreams.
Yesterday at 6:45 p.m. people gathered on Argyle Avenue in Hamilton for Alexandros Hurdakis’ Halloween Parade in September.
“Time is limited so we just wanted to make him happy and bring Halloween to him.”
Alexandros was diagnosed with brain cancer at just 11 months old. After four and half years of fighting the disease, doctors told his parents last week there is nothing more they can do.
One of Alex’s dreams is to go to a haunted house in Niagara Falls to see the monsters, but the journey would be too far. A close family friend, Paula Anderson, decided to bring the monsters to Alex.
Volunteers gathered yesterday morning to set up towering skeletons and Alex’s very own haunted house in the backyard. Some even came by to drop off gifts.
