The Ontario election campaign shifted into a higher gear today as the party leaders tried to win more votes ahead of Thursday’s election.

It is shaping up to be a race that’s likely too close to call.

The results of the latest Nanos poll suggest support for Dalton McGuinty’s Liberals is neck-and-neck with Tim Hudak’s Progressive Conservatives.

The New Democrats are enjoying their highest level of support since the party ruled the province in the early 1990s.

The Liberals currently stand at 37.7 per cent support, according to the Nanos poll. The Progressive Conservatives are close behind with 34.4 per cent, and the NDP stand at 25.5 per cent.

Polls suggest that, come Thursday, Ontario may see its first minority government in more than 25 years.
