Pan Am committee in town today

Pan American games officials are in Hamilton today for an update on the Pan Am stadium.

It’s under construction at the site of the former Ivor Wynne stadium that was demolished in December.

The controversial new Pan Am stadium has been largely panned by a number of city councillors for its design. The stadium – which is about 10 per cent complete – will host soccer matches for the Toronto 2015 games.

Officials are working on a time capsule, which will include a medal from the original 1930 British Empire Games that were held in Hamilton.
