Whether you’re going to Jamaica or Japan, a holiday overseas getaway always starts at the airport and nothing ruins the start of a vacation like being rushed or forced to wait in line behind an unprepared traveller.

With 1.9 million people set to flock in and out of Pearson International Airport over the next two weeks, here are some easy tips to start your travels stress free.

Thanks to technology the airport experience has improved, there’s no excuse for being late. Flights status, boarding pass and even parking spots can be obtained online, so there’s less time waiting.

If you’re leaving a subzero climate to somewhere much warmer like Jamaica and you don’t want to carry your winter jacket there’s a coatcheck for $9 a week where you can ditch your bulky jacket and pick it up.

Make sure all devices, especially the kids’ are all charged for the journey.

Despite our yearly “holiday travel tips report” some people can’t help but disregard the suggestions and keep everything very close. So just a reminder, if you are running late, unless you’re in the military, have a Nexus card, travelling with children or have a disability/illness, you’re going to have to sweat it out with everyone else.
