OPP suspend search for 2 people after lone floaty found in Lake Erie

Ontario Provincial Police are no longer looking for two people after a floaty was found alone in Lake Erie Tuesday.
Norfolk County OPP responded to a report shortly before noon in the area of Erie Blvd. and Beach Ave. in Long Point.
A member of the public told police they had seen two people who appeared to be using a floaty approximately 200 feet from the shore.
Over an hour later, OPP and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton found a white unicorn floaty more than two kilometres south of the Long Point Provincial Park wildlife area.
Officers say no one has been reported missing or outstanding at this time.
“It is unknown if the individuals are outstanding, or if they abandoned the inflatable and returned to shore,” police said in an email to CHCH News.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
