OPP says Haldimand County resident faces sexual assault charges

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says a person from Haldimand County is facing multiple charges in connection with a sexual assault investigation.

On Sept. 1, the accused was charged with aggravated assault, assault, sexual assault with a weapon on a person under the age of 16, assault with a weapon and forcible confinement.

Officers say the suspect remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date.

Publication bans have been issued and as a result, the OPP will not be able to provide further details.
