OPP, local police charge 6 people from Brantford, Paris drugs, weapons seized

Ontario Provincial Police have charged three people from Brantford and three people from Paris Tuesday in connection with a drug trafficking investigation.

Officers worked with street crime units from police services across Ontario to execute a search warrant at a home on Sheridan Street in Brantford and another at a home on Maple Crescent in Paris.

Two people charged after weapons, drugs found at a home in Brantford

Following the search at the Brantford home, investigators arrested 21-year-old Jacob Etenberg and 21-year-old Alana Cook, both of Brantford.

Police say they seized over 1.4 kg of fentanyl, around 104 grams of methamphetamine, 43 grams of suspected cocaine, a number of hydromorphone pills, two handguns — one of which was reportedly loaded, ammunition and over $50,000 in Canadian currency.

Etenberg and Cook are facing similar charges including the offence of possessing fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamines for the purposes of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Investigators say the value of the drugs seized from the Brantford home to be around $148,960.

Etenberg and Cook were held in custody and are awaiting their court dispositions at a Brantford courthouse.

Four people face charges after a search at a home in Paris

Detectives say the search at the Paris home led to the seizure of a 30 grams of suspected cocaine, a loaded bullpup rifle, a ballistic vest and several firearms including a 12-gauge shotgun and two rifles.

Officers say the estimated value of the drugs and property seized at the Paris home is around $213,600.

Police charged 53-year-old Jason Kings of Paris with offences including possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possessing a firearm and failing to comply with an undertaking.

Shaune Gurney, 50, of Paris has been charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and for breaching a conditional sentence order.

Theresa Plant, 46, of Brantford has been charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Emily Felhazi, 44, of Paris is also facing the charge of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Kings, Gurney, Plant and Felhazi were held for a bail hearing at a Brantford courthouse.
