More than 60 per cent of tickets laid by OPP this long weekend were for speeding.
Provincial police say they laid over 6,600 traffic-related charges between Friday and Monday.
Of those, close to 4,200 were speeding tickets.
Another 120 were for stunt driving and racing.
Officers were also targeting drivers who don’t move over a lane for emergency vehicles.
Close to 200 of those charges were laid.
The August long weekend is one of the busiest on Ontario roads.
There were also five fatalities on OPP-patrolled waterways.
