OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk posted on ‘X’ about the incident and thanked the “good samaritan” who stepped in to rescue one of the drivers from a burning SUV.

A driver of one of the vehicles was “taken to hospital by Ornge to be treated for serious injuries,” said Sgt. Sanchuk.

Thompson Road east at Duncombe Road was closed for the investigation.

There are no police updates on the status of injuries or if charges will be laid.
