Ontario announces COVID-19 vaccine certificate

Ontario made a highly anticipated announcement Wednesday afternoon regarding a COVID-19 vaccine certification system.
Premier Doug Ford will revealed a COVID-19 proof-of-vaccination program.
Mandatory proof of vaccination has been a contentious issue in the province.
Many public health officials have called for the implementation of a system but the government has so far been unwilling to introduce a program.
Ontario officials said proof of vaccination will be required for indoor dining, as well as attending movie theatres, and gyms. However, it will not be required for shopping or outdoor dining.
The provincial government is working on an app that will combine both identification and a proof-of-vaccination certificate.
