Seniors in Ontario are getting a new tax credit for home renovations.

Tuesday, the provincial government voted in favour of a new bill to help seniors with making renovations to their home for improving accessibility.

It’s a promise Premier McGuinty made a year ago during the last election campaign.

The tax credit is worth up to $1,500 each year.

It includes wheelchair ramps, grab bars in the bathroom, handrails and renovations to help seniors live on the first floor of their home.
