Ontario is reporting 798 new COVID-19 cases Thursday and 10 more deaths related to the virus.

The Ministry of Health says seven of the deaths occurred more than one month ago and were added to the cumulative count based on data cleaning.

The daily case total is based on more than 29,684 tests completed on the previous day.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 620 of the cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Elliott says 84 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and nearly 77.5 per cent have two doses.

A total of 21,062,281 vaccine doses have been administered in the province.

There are currently 185 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illnesses and 115 on ventilators.

Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least seven are in an outbreak including R. H. Lawson Eventide Home in Niagara Falls and Hampton Terrace Care Centre in Burlington.

An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
