Ontario reports 370 COVID-19 cases and 7 deaths

Ontario reported 370 cases of COVID-19 and seven deaths on Thursday, as the province’s positivity rate dropped to the lowest level in months.

The province completed 30,454 tests in the last day. The reported positivity rate is 1.3 per cent, the lowest since November.

Hamilton

  • 21,077 total cases — up 11 from Wednesday
  • 20,045 resolved cases
  • 170 active cases
  • 40 in hospital
  • 396 deaths

Halton

  • 17,876 total cases — up six from Wednesday
  • 17,561 resolved cases
  • 86 active cases
  • 7 in hospital
  • 229 deaths

Niagara

  • 16,095 total cases — up 11 from Wednesday
  • 15,408 resolved cases
  • 276 active cases
  • 411 deaths
  • 24 in hospital

Brant

  • 3,379 total cases  — up five from Wednesday
  • 3,323  resolved cases
  • 36 active cases
  • 20 deaths
  • 4 in hospital

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 2,692 total cases — up two from Wednesday
  • 2,607 resolved cases
  • 32 active cases
  • 47 deaths

Another daily vaccine record was set on Wednesday, with 210,611 vaccine doses administered.

Over 2.4 million people in the province have received both required vaccine doses.

There are now 397 people in hospital with COVID-19 across Ontario, down from 438 reported on Wednesday.

There are 362 patients in intensive care units with COVID-19 related issues, with 232 of them on ventilators.

The death toll is now 8,993 people.

Another 635 cases have been marked as resolved.
