Ontario is reporting 269 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday and six deaths related to the virus.

The data is based on 21,827 tests completed on the previous day.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 176 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 93 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

The province says a total of more than 22.4 million vaccine doses have been administered.

Elliott says nearly 88 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and 84 per cent have two doses.

There are 138 people in intensive care units due to COVID-19. Of those in hospital, 121 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 17 are fully vaccinated.

Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least five are in an outbreak including Heidehof Long Term Care Home in St. Catharines and Maple Park Lodge in Fort Erie.

An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
