Ontario is reporting a record number of new COVID-19 cases for the third day in a row.
The province says there were 16,713 new COVID-19 cases recorded over the last 24 hours. Fifteen deaths related to the virus were also reported.
The data is based on 75,093 tests completed on the previous day.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says there are 1,144 people in hospital with COVID-19 and 205 patients in intensive care.
The seven-day rolling average of COVID-19-related patients in am intensive care unit is 185.
The province says a total of more than 27.2 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.
Elliott says 90.8 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and 88.1 per cent have two doses.
At least 98 of the province’s 626 long-term care homes currently have a COVID-19 outbreak declared at the facility including Chartwell Brant Centre Long Term Care Residence in Burlington, Extendicare Hamilton, Idlewyld Manor in Hamilton, Linhaven in St. Catharines, Post Inn Village in Oakville, The Wellington Nursing Home in Hamilton and Shalom Manor Long Term Care Home in Grimsby.
An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
