Ontario is reporting 135 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday and four additional deaths.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says there are 26 new cases in Toronto, 16 in Peel Region, 13 in Durham Region, 12 in the Region of Waterloo, and 10 in Middlesex-London.
There are currently 145 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illness and 70 on ventilators.
The province says 140,491 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered Tuesday for a total of nearly 18.5 million.
Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least five are in an outbreak including Arbour Creek Long-Term Care Centre in Hamilton, St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, and The Village of Tansley Woods in Burlington.
An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
