Ontario reports 1,074 COVID-19 cases, 11 deaths

Ontario reported 1,074 cases of COVID-19 and 11 deaths on Tuesday.

The daily case count comes as the province completed 28,526 tests. The reported positivity rate, which takes into account the date tests were administered, is 4.5 per cent.

Another 1,085 cases have been marked as resolved.

There were 51,579 vaccine doses administered on Monday, bringing the total number of doses administered to 1,243,132 as of 8 p.m.

There are 288,918 people who are fully vaccinated in the province.

  • 11,381 total cases — up 66 from Monday
  • 10,360 resolved cases
  • 547 active cases
  • 93 in hospital
  • 296 deaths  — up one from Monday
  • 59,347 vaccine doses given

An outbreak has been declared at Community Church in Waterdown, with five patrons and four staff members testing positive for the virus.

Halton

  • 10,113 total cases — up 30 from Monday
  • 9,642 resolved cases
  • 272 active cases
  • 16 in hospital
  • 199 deaths
  • 257 total variant cases

Niagara

  • 9,004 total cases — up 51 from Monday
  • 8,353 resolved cases
  • 278 active cases
  • 6 in hospital
  • 373 deaths
  • 13,809 vaccine doses given

Brant

  • 1,635 total cases — up 17 from Monday
  • 1,526 resolved cases
  • 97 active cases
  • 12 deaths
  • 1 in hospital
  • 15,958 vaccine doses given; 2,559 people fully vaccinated

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 1,513 total cases — up ten from Monday
  • 1,420 resolved cases
  • 39 active cases
  • 39 deaths
  • 13,397 vaccine doses given; 1,610 people fully vaccinated

Six Nations

    • 425 total cases — up two from Monday
    • 388 resolved cases
    • 29 active cases
    • 1 in hospital
    • 8 deaths

There are now 1,131 confirmed cases of the B.1.1.7 lineage of the virus, which was first reported in the U.K.

Confirmed cases of the B.1.351 strain, first reported in South Africa, is now 46.

There are still 34 confirmed cases of the P.1 strain first reported in Brazil.

There are 761 COVID-19 patients in hospital across the province, up from the 699 patients reported on Monday. There are 292 people in intensive care, with 194 of them on ventilators.
