Ontario is reporting 232 new COVID-19 cases, one new death

Ontario is reporting 232 new COVID-19 cases. This is the highest one-day increase since the end of June. Sixty-seven per cent of the new cases are in people under the age of 40. While over 35,000 tests were completed.

This is the second straight day the provinces new cases have surpassed 200.

One new deaths was reported while 39,717 of the 44,300 (90 %) have been resolved. The number of patients hospitalized has dropped from 49 to 43.

Here’s how the numbers break down in our region as of Friday September 11th:

Haldimand-Norfolk: 0 new cases, 20 active cases

Brant: 0 new cases, 2 active cases

Niagara: 3 new cases, 20 active cases

Halton: 7 new cases, 46 active cases

Hamilton: 6 new cases, 93 active cases
