Ontario invests $270K in Mississauga Streetsville housing project
The Ontario government has announced a $270 thousand investment in a housing project in Mississauga.
Premier Doug Ford was joined by Housing Minister Steve Clark and CEO of Indwell Community Homes Jeff Neven to make the announcement.
The funding will go towards rent supplements and mental health and addictions support services for forty new units of “supportive housing” in the city.
The Streetsville project is being operated under Indwell Community homes, a Christian group that provides “affordable housing communities that support people seeking health, wellness and belonging.”

The project is set to provide services to individuals over the age of 18 who have a history of mental health, addiction and housing instability.
Services that are planned to be provided in the housing community includes program management, supervised social work, nursing, addiction support, behavioral support, housing support casework, food security and 24/7 on call support where required.
Of the $270 thousand being invested, $229,500 is being directed towards rent supplements and $40,500 towards mental health and addiction support.
This announcement marks the second investment by the Ontario government into the Streetsville project. The first $4.5 million investment was made to assist in the building process of the 40 units.
This additional investment will help with connecting residents in need of mental health and addictions support with places to live while connecting them to services they need that are closer to home and reducing the number of visits to emergency rooms and hospitals.
