One year since Burlington flood disaster

It’s now been a year since an intense downpour overloaded sewers and backed up into basements in Burlington.
Damage from the 2014 Civic Holiday disaster that affected about 6000 homes has been estimated to have cost more than $90 million. That doesn’t include uninsured amounts.
About two months worth of rain fell in just a few hours.
Halton Region plans to spend at least $90 million on water-flow improvements over the next decade to help prevent similar catastrophes.
