One person arrested following an altercation at a Niagara Falls motel

One person has been charged following an altercation involving a gun at a motel near Kitchener St. and Slater Ave.
Niagara Regional Police were called to the motel on Tuesday, June 30th after reports of two males approaching a female in the parking lot with a gun.
Two males fled the scene prior to police arriving. Niagara police believe this is a targeted incident.
On July 1st 19-year-old Matthew Lawrence Belisle of the City of Welland was arrested and charged with pointing a firearm, disguise with intent, attempt to commit an indictable offence/robbery and uttering threats.
Niagara Regional Police continue to search for the second male involved.
Police identified him as 36-year-old James Lippert if anyone has further information is asked to contact detectives at (905) 688-4111 or call CrimeStoppers at 1 (800) 222-TIPS.
