One dead, another hospitalized after crash near Cayuga

The victim of Tuesday’s fatal car crash in Cayuga has been identified 

The morning of Oct. 14, Haldimand OPP, paramedics and fire responded to a crash that happened at Hwy 3 and Regional Rd. 20 — commonly known as Nelles Corners near Hagersville.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found a passenger van and a transport truck which had collided.

The passenger in the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the same vehicle was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.

The deceased has been identified as a 95-year-old from Lowbanks.

The roads surrounding the intersection were closed for investigation but have since re-opened.
