Ohio residents now have a million-dollar incentive to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Republican Gov. Mike DeWine announced a new lottery program Wednesday to encourage residents to get their shots.

Those 18 years and older who receive at least one vaccine dose will be eligible for a weekly $1 million lottery prize.

For those under 18, the prize is a full four-year scholarship to any of Ohio’s state colleges and universities.

Most COVID-19 health orders in Ohio will lift June 2.

During his prime-time address Wednesday, DeWine said the widespread availability and effectiveness of the vaccine means it’s time to end the health orders, including the mask mandate.
