Oakville school fundraising for Paralympics

Oakville high school T.A. Blakelock has been fundraising in support of the Paralympics.
The money raised will be donated on behalf of graduate and captain of the Canadian Sledge Hockey team Greg Westlake. Teacher Melissa Snedden grew up with Westlake and knows he will appreciate the donation.
“Greg and I went to elementary and high school together and kept in contact since, so we have been emailing each other back and forth. Right now it is kind of a busy time for him, but the last email he did send me, he said the fundraiser gives him a sense of community so he’s very happy with what we are doing for him.”
The school collected loose change and ran a raffle with prizes donated from the community. The money raised will be given to the Hamilton District Sledge Hockey Association to help pay for equipment, registration and ice rental fees.
