Oakville man charged with voyeurism, police searching for more victims
Halton police have charged a man with voyeurism and are looking for additional victims.
On July 4, 2021, police say they were called to the Walmart located on Fairview Street in Burlington for reports of a man using a cell phone to take video under the dress of an unaware woman in the store. The woman has no previous contact or relationship with the man.
As a result of a lengthy investigation, police were able to identify the man on January 28 as 38-year-old Ali Rabia of Oakville. He was arrested and charged with one count of voyeurism.
At the time of Rabia’s arrest, police also executed a search warrant at his residence. As a result of evidence found by police, Rabia has since been charged with an additional four counts of voyeurism. The additional woman victim was known to Rabia and was filmed on multiple occasions without her knowledge.
Investigators say they have evidence of additional victims, who may or may not know Rabia and are looking to identify them.
Anyone who may have been a victim or who have information regarding this investigation are asked to contact police at 905-825-4777 ext. 2334.
