Oakville lifts fire ban after weekend rainfall

The Oakville Fire Department has lifted its town-wide fire ban after the weekend brought notable amounts of rainfall and a forecast of cooler temperatures.

Officials issued the ban on Aug. 11 after an extended heat wave, prolonged dry conditions and minimal rain.

Oakville fire says that community members should still be vigilant and practice fire safety.
