Hamilton police say they are investigating a fire that took place early Thursday morning at a car dealership on Kenilworth Ave. North.

The Hamilton Fire Department told CHCH News that they arrived a bit before 6 a.m., at the fire at the H & A Automotive car dealership at 115 Kenilworth Ave. North.

First responders say they saw an “automotive garage with smoke showing from a ventilation shaft.”

Firefighters say they located the fire and quickly put it out. They say that the fire appeared to have started around a hot water tank.

The fire department says they reported the fire as suspicious to the police, but they have not determined the cause of the fire.

Officers say the business was vacant at the time of the fire, and report that no one was injured.

Hamilton Police Services told CHCH News that there were signs of arson, but they were unable to provide any more details.
