The 100 year old runner who recently made history at the Toronto Marathon is not getting into the Guinness Book of World Records after all.

A Guinness spokesman says Fauja Singh’s proof of id showing his age is not acceptable for the organization.

Singh has a British passport that says he was born in 1911, but he doesn’t have a birth certificate.

His trainer says officials in the part of India where Singh was born didn’t issue birth certificates at the time, but without one Guinness says they can’t acceptably verify his age.
