Niagara police seek to identify witnesses for assault in July

Niagara police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the people who potentially witnessed an assault at a St. Catharines restaurant last month.
Officers say the assault occurred on July 10 at the restaurant’s patio located between St. Paul and James streets and Garden Park. They say the suspect started punching the victim, a 60-year-old man, after a minor verbal disagreement and knocked him to the ground.
Investigators released information about the suspect wanted for the assault earlier this month.
They describe the suspect as a white man with a slim build, short blond hair, a possible mustache and between 30 to 40 years of age. He was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt with a logo on the front, blue jeans and white Adidas shoes.
The suspect has still not been identified.
