Niagara police seek 2 men after 13 incidents of vandalism
Niagara police are asking for the public’s help in locating two men after 13 incidents of vandalism last weekend.
Investigators said racist and homophobic words were spray painted on the side of a home near George and Catherine streets in St. Catharines around 8 a.m. Sunday.
Officers continued to investigate in the area where they found multiple vehicles and buildings that were targeted, including Harriet Tubman School. A statue of Harriet Tubman on the property was also vandalized with paint shortly before 10 p.m. on June 11.
In total, police said two school buses, six vehicles, three homes, one business and one elementary school were vandalized. Damages are estimated at more than $5,000.
Investigators describe the first male suspect as having a medium build and wearing light coloured pants, a light coloured sweater, baseball hat and black Nike shoes.
The second male suspect is described as having a thin build and wearing a striped hooded sweater, pants, light coloured shoes and a flat brimmed baseball hat.
The men are believed to have travelled in the area on foot or bicycle. They were on George, Catherine, Albert, Henry and Louisa streets.
