Niagara Regional Police Service have arrested a man alleged to have communicated online with a person under 16-years-old.
Officers from the Internet Child Exploitation Unit continued communications undercover with the suspect to further their investigation.
Police allege that the suspect spoke to the underage person with sexual intent.
They have charged 68-year-old Paul Derose of Niagara Falls with luring a child electronically for sexual interference and sexual assault.
Derose is expected to appear in court on July 16 for a bail hearing and is being held in custody prior.
