Niagara police charge 28-year-old in drug trafficking investigation

Last month, Niagara police began an investigation into the illegal trafficking of drugs in the city of Niagara Falls.
Officers said they saw a man allegedly “exhibiting behaviour that is consistent with drug trafficking” in the area of Summer Street in Niagara Falls on Wednesday.

Police arrested the suspect and seized:

  • 2.2 grams fentanyl, with an estimated street value of $440;
  • 19 hydromorphone with an estimated street value of $380;
  • $600 Canadian Currency.

Officers were granted a search warrant for a residence on Drummond Road in Niagara Falls where they seized the following:

  • 7.3 grams fentanyl with an estimated street street value of $1460;
  • 36 hydromorphone tablets with an estimated street value of $720;
  • Glock Magazine;
  • Seven 9mm rounds of ammunition.

Donte Lloyd, 28, of Niagara Falls has been charged with:

  • Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime under $5000;
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device;
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking; (Fentanyl);
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Hydromorphone);
  • Driving While Under Suspension.

Lloyd was held in custody and attended a bail hearing Feb. 12 in a St. Catharines court.
