Niagara police arrest one man, seize more than 59K worth of drugs

Police have arrested one man and seized $59,663 worth of illicit substances following a drug trafficking investigation in Niagara Falls.

On Tuesday, officers observed a man trafficking illicit substances. He was soon arrested at a business on Lundy’s Lane.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. the same day, detectives executed a search warrant at the man’s residence. As a result, the following items were seized:

  • 84.6 grams suspected Fentanyl, street value of $15,228
  • 243.1 grams suspected crystal methamphetamine, street value of $24,310
  • 32.8 grams suspected cocaine, street value of $3,280
  • 1123 tablets of hydromorphone, street value of $16,845
  • $14,162.30 Canadian Currency
  • $138 U.S. Currency

Jay MacDougall, 44, of Niagara Falls has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substances for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substances for the Purpose of Trafficking (Crystal Methamphetamine)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substances for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substances for the Purpose of Trafficking (Hydromorphone)
  • Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
