Niagara police arrest Mississauga man for child luring offence

Niagara police have arrested a man from Mississauga following a four month investigation into internet child exploitation.

Officers say an investigation began in August looking into suspicious text conversations between an a man and someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

Detectives say  the man arranged to meet Nov. 20, with a 14-year-old girl at a pre-arranged location. He was arrested by police after attending the meeting location.

The department arrested 49-year-old Domenico Giuseppe Cianflone from Mississauga and have charged him with offences of luring a child through telecommunication to facilitate sexual interference and for making written child pornography.

Investigators say they have reason to believe Cianflone was using online platforms with the username, “HockeyCoach”, “joe” and “joed3300” to commit offences against other children on the internet.

Cianflone was held inc ustody pending a bail hearing Thursday at a St. Catharines courthouse.
