Niagara police arrest man after stabbing in St. Catharines
Niagara police say a man was stabbed in St. Catharines early Tuesday morning.
Officers responded to reports of a stabbing just after midnight, April 12, in the area of Ferndale Avenue and Dunvegan Road.
Officers found a 55-year-old man suffering from stab wounds and he was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to an out-of-town trauma centre.
Police say the man is in stable condition.
Niagara police have arrested 28-year-old Bryan Schneider of St. Catharines as a result. He has been charged with aggravated assault.
Detectives confirmed this was a targeted incident.
Police say Schneider has been held in custody pending a bail hearing that will take place Tuesday, April 12.
