Niagara Parks set to launch ‘flying theatre’ attraction in August

Niagara Parks is set to open up a new attraction at the end of the summer that will feature Ontario’s first “flying theatre experience.”
The new attraction, called Niagara Takes Flight, will feature a 180-degree domed screen that will give guests the sensation of flying above the region’s most iconic landscapes and get a closer look at Niagara Falls.
The flying theatre experience will be located in Table Rock Centre, at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls.
Patrons can expect a sensory-rich ride using gondola-style seating, which suspends riders in the air. Wind, mist and scent effects will go along with the dynamic motion of the ride to create a fully immersive experience.
Niagara’s rich history and culture will also be a main point of focus as there will be pre-show areas that celebrate the stories of Niagara’s formation, the region’s first indigenous inhabitants and its role in popular culture as a global tourism icon.
Some of the landmarks included in the theatre show are the Niagara Parks Power Station, Niagara Whirlpool, Landscape of Nations Memorial, Old Fort Erie and the Horseshoe Falls.
Planning and conceptualization began in January 2024, with initial construction starting in September. Filming for the project took place between September 2024 and January 2025.
Niagara Parks says construction and media production are in the final stages of preparation for the Aug. 29 opening date.
More information can be found on the Niagara Parks website.
