The Humane Society of Greater Niagara is asking for local help identifying the owner of a small male dog that was recently brought into their care.

The animal shelter says a senior small-breed male dog, who hasn’t been neutered, was found on Haig Street in St. Catharines, and transported to the society by taxi.

Shelter staff say the dog was found to be in extremely poor physical condition and is currently receiving a veterinary assessment and supportive care.

The Humane Society is asking anyone who may recognize the dog, or have knowledge of his history, to reach out by either calling 905-682-0767 ext. 241, or by emailing cwelychka@hsgn.ca .

The animal shelter says anonymous tips are welcome and any information can help establish the dog’s history, to help his ongoing welfare.
