Niagara police are on the hunt for a vehicle they believe may be connected to a shooting.

Officers say that residents in a home near Ryerson Crescent and Rice Crescent awoke to the sound of gunfire around 3:30 a.m. on April 21 — but didn’t bother reporting it until the next day at 8 p.m.

Forensic detectives arrived, only to find that a house on Ryerson Crescent had “damage consistent with being struck by gunfire.”

Police say that while there were people inside the home at the time of the shooting, no one was injured.

Now, authorities are circulating surveillance images of an SUV they say was seen speeding away from the scene and asking residents to review their own CCTV and dashcam footage.

They say the vehicle was last seen fleeing the scene and entering Highway 420.

“Anyone (residents/business owners) who may have been in the area with cell phones, closed circuit video recording, or dash camera footage between 1:00am and 4:00am on April 21, 2024, are asked to review their footage of the area and to contact police if they observe anything suspicious,” police said in an update Tuesday afternoon.
