Niagara giraffe dies

A giraffe at a Niagara area animal park has died.

Safari Niagara, formerly known as “Zooz”, says its 17 year old male giraffe, Noah, died earlier this month.

The facility in Stevensville says a necropsy shows, Noah had a brain aneurysm on January 17th.

Before that, they say he had shown no signs of poor health. The giraffe had been part of Safari Niagara before the park opened in 2002.

In memory of Noah, a plaque will be placed in front of his exhibit prior to the 2016 season.
