Niagara police are investigating a Saturday morning homicide at an apartment building in Niagara Falls.

A police statement says uniform officers responded to a residence in the area of Huron Street and St. Claire Avenue to check on the welfare of a resident at about 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 28.

When they arrived, they found a woman dead inside the home and charged 41-year-old Dale James Vincent of Niagara Falls with second-degree murder.

“Detectives have information to suggest that this was not a random act of violence,” says the police statement.

Homicide detectives identified the deceased individual as 59-year-old Lori Konrad, who is the mother of the accused in the investigation, which remains ongoing.

Dale James Vincent attended a bail hearing and was remanded into custody.
