Niagara Falls man charged in alleged road rage incident

A Niagara Falls man is facing multiple charges after an alleged road rage incident on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW).

It happened on Saturday around 2 p.m. on the QEW near Thorold Stone Rd.

Police received a call from a driver who said a man had stop in a live lane of traffic and got out of his vehicle.

It’s alleged the man pulled out a knife and threatened the driver.

Officers located the suspect near his home in Niagara Falls and he was arrested.

Police also seized two knives.

OPP say the incident may have involved a brake check, which is when a driver deliberately brakes very hard in front of another driver who is following closely behind.

Perry Fournier, 71, has been charged with concealed weapon, utter threats, assault, dangerous driving, impaired driving and fail to provide breath sample.

He has been held for a bail hearing.
