One of Canada’s most well-known amusement parks, Marineland, has begun selling all of its rides.

The sale went public quietly on the American trade publication Amusement Today, which listed the contact information for the people coordinating the sale.

Bill Ossim of Rides Plus LLC confirmed he is helping to sell the rides that remain in the controversial park.

The release from Amusement Today says the rides are available to be bought by amusement operators, entertainment companies and other qualified buyers.

The marketing department of the park says they are in the process of transitioning to new ownership and they are selling their rides to make way for other attractions.

The Niagara Falls amusement park has yet to reopen for the season. It typically closes for fall and winter and reopens in the spring.

In February, the park received approval from the City of Niagara Falls to divide its land into four parcels to raise enough money to continue with park operations and to eventually move its animals.

Marineland has received criticism in the past for its treatment of animals with several animals dying under the park’s care. Most notably, Kiska, the whale that lived in Marineland captivity for 47 years before dying in 2023.

The park was also found guilty in 2024 of animal cruelty for its care of three young black bears.

Ontario’s Animal Welfare Service has visited the amusement park more than 200 times since they launched their ongoing investigation in 2020.

It is unclear if the park will reopen this year.
