Niagara contractor arrested after victims defrauded of $39K

A contractor is facing a number of charges after several people reported being scammed in Niagara Region.
Back in August, detectives launched an investigation into allegations of contractor fraud by the owner of Pasha’s Concrete Corporation.
Police allege the owner of the company entered into contracts with clients, who put down a deposit, prior to work being started.
Police say the work was never completed.
Thirty-two-year-old Hakan Akgul, of Niagara Falls, has been charged with six counts of fraud under $5,000, and two counts of fraud over $5,000.
He has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Anyone with information that could help police with the investigation is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, ext. 1002200.
