New lives for retired Halton ambulances

Three decommissioned ambulances from Halton will be put to use in areas where the vehicles are in short supply.

The vehicles have reached the end of their useful life for the region, but with proper maintenance they are still fully operational. Two of the ambulances will go all the way to South Sudan, an area greatly under-served by emergency services.

Alpha King, president of Ozone Systems International: “They have three ambulances in a place with 12 million people. They only have three. And this gift here today, it’s worthwhile, it’s humongous, and the people in South Sudan are anxious to see it happen, and see it happen in their country. ”

The other ambulance will go to the Oakville-Milton and Halton Hills branch of St John Ambulance.
