NDP leader Andrea Horwath revealed campaign plans to make some big changes to the HST at a news conference Thursday.

“You can cut a lot from your household budget, but ultimately, you have to heat your home, and you have to keep your lights on. So we’re going to keep up the pressure, by expanding our campaign to take the HST off of home heating, including natural gas and heating oil and permanently remove it from the hydro bills.”

Horwath says this is an effort to make life more affordable for Ontarians. It’s a move would cost the province $350 million, but Horwath says the money would come from corporate taxes.
