Munich will name a street after Queen singer Freddie Mercury.

The unanimous vote from city council comes after a five-year effort by a German radio station, who declared there were not enough “rocking street names” in Germany.

In 2015, the station filed the paperwork to request a street for Mercury, who recorded five albums in the city.

“Freddie Mercury Street” will be near the Olympic Hall, where Queen performed many times.

A request was also made for a “Johnny Cash Road” in the town of Landsberg am Lech, where Cash was stationed with the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s.
