Multiple charges laid against 23-year-old in Hagersville shooting

A 23-year-old is facing several charges following a shooting in Hagersville that left one person seriously injured last Saturday.

OPP first received reports around 2:45 a.m. of a person who had entered a Hagersville hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say the victim was airlifted to a hospital in Hamilton with serious injuries where they remain at this time.

Investigators took an individual into custody without incident a short time later.

Treyton Bomberry of Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation now faces seven charges in connection with the incident, including criminal negligence causing bodily harm and two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to probation order.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
