A multi-vehicle collision has closed South Service Road and two Niagara-bound lanes on the QEW near Centennial Parkway in Hamilton.

Provincial police say a transport truck and two passenger vehicles were involved in the crash.

Investigators add that a transport truck travelling on the QEW towards Niagara went through a fence onto South Service Road. The driver was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities are currently in the process of removing vehicles involved in the crash. The OPP says South Service Road will be closed for hours while they work to remove the truck.

Officers are advising drivers planning to travel in that direction to expect traffic slowdowns.
